And, we’re back! It’s been 100 episodes since the first the Griz Fan Podcast on April 25th in 2018. And, we’re back! For this week we reflect on the 100 episodes since the first the Griz Fan Podcast on April 25th in 2018. Episodes used to be under an hour long, opened with a bluegrass song, and were recorded on an ipad. Now, pods surpass 2 hours, open with updates from James, and are recorded on a sound board. As we look back, the GFP maybe had a few hundred listens each week, now it’s in the tens of thousands. On this week’s pod, without a game to recap, we do a little bit of talk around the conference. We take some time to chat quickly on the upcoming Northern Colorado game. From there, we have a lot of fan comments and questions reminiscing on pod moments. To all who keep tuning in to have a chat about Grizzly sports and have a few beers with us, we appreciate you, go Griz!

The Griz are fresh off a tremendous road win against #3 Idaho & secured the Little Brown Stein again. And now, the Grizzlies are off on their bye week. This week’s pod welcomes former Griz WR Samuel Akem to talk on the game and to share an update on what he’s up to. You'll gain insight into the player perspective of a big win. Following that, with no team to scout for next week we take some time to look around the conference. Samuel adds in to share a few stories as well. Then, as always, the final segment is dedicated to the fan questions.

Are the Montana Grizzlies turning the corner? Coming off a pretty big road win against a ranked team the GFP is back at it to discuss their observations and thoughts from Montana’s win. With a starting QB seemingly locked in there was a lot to talk about on the offense and some excellent standout play from the defense. While the win was a big one, there was also plenty to critique as well. After that we move on to a quick recap of the two other games in conference. From there we look around the conference at this weekend’s upcoming games. The pod spends some time giving you a preview of who to look for and what to expect from Idaho, and then as always, we close out with fan questions!

Montana is back on the winning side of the ball, coming off an 8 point homecoming win against Idaho State. This week we discuss what we saw that we really liked, and where we continue to have concerns moving forward. After the opening of the pod the conversation centers around what seems to be missing with the defense, if Montana has possibly found their guy at QB, and the noticed OL rotation this weekend. With that talk concluded we look around the conference, hop into a quick preview on UC Davis, and then close out with listener questions.

After a crushing upset loss to Northern Arizona the GFP convenes to discuss what they saw, ongoing concerns, and if there’s still hope that the Grizzlies can turn the season around. Joined with guest Kyle Sample and a quick drop in surprise from Andrew Schmidt there was clearly plenty to discuss. This GFP really covers the observed issues and concerns through the first 4 games of the season and doesn’t go too deep into specific discussion on the progression of the NAU game. We think you’ll really appreciate both Kyle’s perspective as a former journalist, and Andrew’s as a former player. In this GFP we don’t do much of a look around the conference, but do spend the last hour covering fan questions.

Joining the pod this week is "recovering sports writer" Lynn Solomon, to share takeaways from the Ferris State game. As usual the pod opens with a long discussion on the game and the atmosphere. And while there was a lot of fun there are also some ongoing concerns that are covered as well. And now with the OOC schedule in the rearview mirror, it's time to lock in for conference play.
