On the heels of a tough home loss to Sacramento State the GFP is back to dissect the game and where the team is at right now.  And who better else can we have on hand to assist in the discussion but Colter Nuanez with ESPN Missoula and Skyline Sports.  With Colter’s insight we have some long discussions on the roster, the game, and the coaching staff’s approach and plans week in and week out.  It’s an impressive overview that spins off multiple conversations that give Griz Nation a total perspective that helps give insight to some of what’s happening with this team. 

 

Moving beyond last week’s game the guys discuss the upcoming Idaho game and what to expect there.  With Colter’s help we analyze the importance of the next handful of games Montana has coming up and what the Griz need to do to get back on track.  Of course everyone’s favorite part of the pod, the fan questions, close us out in in the last 45 minutes.  The questions range from serious ones about the roster, play calling, and playoff hopes to having to pick between Backstreet Boys or NSYNC.

With the mysterious lost pod now in the rear-view mirror the guys are back at it and covering all of your need to know Grizzly topics.  Fresh off a 31-14 win over Dixie State there was plenty to dissect about Kris Brown’s first start, the offensive line, the defense, injuries, and illness.  It was also a crazy weekend around the FCS and in the Big Sky as there were plenty of surprising games to recap.  And now, Montana has a major test with a challenging Sacramento State coming to Missoula.  As always, we close with fan questions, and we added in a bunch that were not answered from the last week as well.

It’s a big week in Griz Nation as the #4 Montana Grizzlies head to Cheney to play the #6 Eastern Washington Eagles.  In this weeks episode of the GFP we share our thoughts from the homecoming game against Cal Poly.  From how impressive the defense and special teams were, to the inconsistent showing from the offense.  There’s also a segment dedicated to our ongoing observations around the gameday experience.  We then look around the league and recap what happened in Big Sky Conference play and predict the upcoming week.  After that it’s time to talk about this huge game against EWU, we talk about who to look for, what to expect, and how the Griz can win.  Finally, as always, we’ve got a large array of fan questions to cover as we close out the show including a pick one option about being a pirate or driving a teal Miata with the roof down in the winter.

Griz Fan Podcast - Homecoming and Cal Poly

It’s homecoming for Montana!  With the bye week in the rear view mirror the Griz ramp up for their next opponent, the Cal Poly Mustangs.  Without a prior game to recap the guys jump into talking about the wild last week of Big Sky Conference football and also discuss the week ahead for all other conference teams.  We chat as well about the upcoming Griz opponent in Cal Poly.  The Mustangs new head coach is former EWU coach Beau Baldwin and he’s undergoing large changes with the program.  Gone are the triple option days for Poly, but as discussed in the pod, we don’t know who’s starting at QB and we’re expecting some tricks up Baldwin’s sleeve.  The last half of the pod closes out with the wide array of fan questions and comments, some of which lead to some long discussions on various topics.
