With the Brawl of the Wild just days away, we're happy to bring you a special roundtable episode featuring Griz and Cat fans from around the Big Sky Podcast Network realm.  Mike and Brint with the Griz Fan Pod share and discuss their thoughts and opinions of this game from the Montana Grizzlies perspective.  Both Ryan and Ryan from the R&R Cat Cast and Montana Parlay and Hot Take Nate from Montana Mint join to share their Montana State Bobcats perspective.  It's a fun hour and half of discussion, banter, occasional jokes, and opinions from both sides of the rivalry.

Griz Fan Podcast - Cat Week! With guests Riley Corcoran and Andrew Schmidt

The Brawl of the Wild awaits this Saturday and we've got plenty to cover on the GFP.   With Luke out for the week, Riley Corcoran joins Mike and Brint in person.  In our chat Riley goes over some final thoughts from NAU and looks ahead to the Cat game.  As the pod goes on, Andrew Schmidt, everyone's favorite backup running back, joins in virtually to chat all things cat week.   Both share great insights, stories, and fun moments of their memories on this great rivalry.   This was the first GFP that was also live-streamed on Twitch during Andrew's segment as well.

The GFP is back at it and we've got plenty to cover!  The Griz are looking much better after a 35-0 shutout win vs Northern Colorado.  And as many were hoping for, Mike quickly addresses his UNC pick and seeks atonement from Griz Nation.  Moving beyond that point there was plenty to cover from the game and the guys go over all of it.  

From there we move on to a broad look around the Big Sky and the FCS.  There's two weeks of regular season left and the post-season is on the horizon.  What do the Griz need to do to secure a spot?  How are the FCS polls shaping up?

 

After that it's time to talk NAU and what to expect for this upcoming game.  The Griz have had a tough go of it in Flagstaff in the last decade and this young NAU team is eyeing Montana for an upset.  Then, as always, the last hour is all of your fan questions that came in this week.

It’s been quite the week in Griz Nation as many fans are still reeling from Montana’s 20-19 win over 1 win Southern Utah.  The GFP is back and ready to share our thoughts, good and bad.   We go over the ongoing struggles the offense is having, team penalties, and the continued effort from the defense.  We chat about having two strong candidates for the Buck in Pat O’Connell and Justin Ford.  Discussion also centers around areas of needed improvement, team leadership, and road games vs home games.

 

Before the recap of the SUU game though, the guys have SID Eric Taber on to talk about the very real possibility of having College Gameday come to Montana for the Brawl.   Montana fans need to go all out for the next two weeks to tag game day in all social media posts to get their attention.  There’s a big push behind this, let’s make it happen!

 

Once complete with the recap we jump into our usual look around the conference and make picks for the upcoming week.  Then it’s on to the Northern Colorado game.  UNC has been playing better and will pose a bigger challenge to Montana than one might expect.  We break down what to expect, who to look for, and what the Griz need to do to get a win.  Then, as usual, we close with all of our great fan questions and topics.

Griz Fan Podcast - The Stein Stays in Montana

The Little Brown Stein stays in Montana as the Grizzlies got back on track with a solid win against the Idaho Vandals.  And as it turned out there was quite a few takeaways we wanted to chat about.  The offense showed great improvement, there are still a lot of costly errors, and the defense appeared to be back to it’s dominant ways.  Beyond that there was plenty to cover from the officiating, the lack of replay, the atmosphere, beer sales in the Kibbie Dome, and the woes of the Idaho faithful. 

 

Moving beyond the Idaho game we shift gears to look around the conference.  Weber pulled off a major upset against Eastern Washington, the crazy box score from ISU vs MSU, and Sac appears to be rolling.  With just 4 weeks left of regular conference play it’s also time to start looking at the very murky Big Sky Conference playoff picture.  

 

After that we strap on the oxygen tanks, get the scuba masks, and get below the surface waters of the upcoming Southern Utah game.  SUU’s stats aren’t great but they’ve put a few scares into teams, we go over their season so far, and what to expect.  Brint also updates us on his planned tailgate spread for this weekend.  And finally, as always, we finish with all of the fan questions that piled up on egriz and twitter.
